Garth we thank you for your unstinting service, care and love

Cousin we saw all that you did. You, like a Colossus, took on tasks that other mortals would shrink from.

You took on the Big jobs that your Nation needed to have done right: Airport, Hydroelectric, Reservoir, Waterworks and you did them right.

So much could have gone wrong, but never on your watch.

No Grandstanding for you, just a smile, and a brief acknowledgement to others that you had done it right, the way it was required to be done.

Your laurels became the Nation’s accomplishments. Like the “Iron man” who once stood sentry in old Kingstown, you saw it all, but not a word came from your lips.

Like the Centurions of Rome, you conquered your tasks then came home to rest. We saw the toll on your face. You said nothing, but silently slipped away.

Family, Friends and Citizens of St Vincent and the Grenadines thank you for your unstinting service, care and love.

Angels will now guide you the rest of the way.
