SVG represented well at Regional Swimming Championships
THETWO CLUBS that represented St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) at the 2025 Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre (RHAC) Swimming Championships in St Lucia returned home with a total of 44 medals.
The April 10-13, championships drew representation from the Black Sands Swim Squad (BSSS), and the Blue Marlins Swim Club (BM) of SVG.
BSSS, represented by Eltonique Leonard, Abigail De Shong and Mya De Freitas, accounted for 25 of the medals.
Leonard secured 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze; De Shong had 4 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze; and De Freitas secured 2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze.
Apart from her medal count, Leonard was the Girls 13 to 14 Sprint Challenge champion, contested over 50 and 25 meters.
For the Blue Marlins Swim Club, Tayeah St Hillaire led the haul with nine medals: 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze.
Next for Blue Marlins was Frencille Davis who got six medals- 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze.
The other two Blue Marlins representatives also medalled. Zoey May got 3 bronze, while Saige Jobe earned herself one silver.
Meanwhile, Blue Marlins’ Jayce Thomas swam five new personal best times, while Taj Henry achieved four new personal best times, and Raya Adams got three new personal best times at the St Lucia championships.
This year’s hosting of RHAC championships saw over 20 clubs from across the Caribbean competing for honours.
