Hairouna Karate Federation welcomes new faces

The Hairouna Karate Federation (HKF) has welcomed six new faces to its 2025-2028 executive.

The six were elected last Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the HKF’s Annual General Meeting, held at Olympic House, Villa Point.

Staking their place to national administration were Giselle Young, Rishaud Roache, Alvin Seales, Josephine Alexander, Cathianna Greaves and Rosette Stronghold.

Young, who received eight votes, thus takes over the post of Treasurer; with Roache installed as Assistant Secretary/ Treasurer. Roache got the nod of five voters.

The new Public Relations Officer is Alvin Seales, who gained four votes.

Meanwhile, Alexander, Greaves and Stronghold, enter as the three Committee Members. Alexander and Greaves received five votes, and Stronghold received six.

The new faces join re-elected officers in President, Claude Bascombe Jr; Vice- President, Adrian John; and General Secretary, Shernette Richards.

As outlined by Bascombe Jr. in his President’s Report, several plans and projections have been identified for execution from 2025 and beyond.

He cited lobbying for an indoor multi -sport facility to provide for better organized competitions for the HKF and its members, as well as establishing active engagement strategies to bridge the disconnect in HKF membership to increase participation across the board.

In addition, it is the mission of the new executive to seek out partnerships with reputable brands, and establish relationships to benefit the athletes.
