Man versus Nature to become a signature event

Following the success of the inaugural ‘Man versus Nature’ run staged on March 16, 2025, as part of National Heroes Month activities, the St Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority plans to make this a signature event.

The event, the “Man vs Nature Joseph Chotoyer Extreme Run” took participants through some of the most rugged North Leeward terrain.

The serene Caribbean Sea and contrasting rugged mountains provided the backdrop for the athletes who, apart from battling each other, had to contend with the setting sun.

At the end, Zichri Hepburn, Zita Vincent and Caswin Prince, emerged winners in their various categories.

Hepburn showed his class by distancing the field in the elite category, being first to reach the Chateaubelair Playing Field, having started at Gordon Yard.

His winning time was 43.56 minutes, ahead of Henree K Francois and Josnel Ashton in that order.

Vincent topped the female segment, with Annicia Westfield second and Nyra De Shong placed third.

Among the veterans 50 years and over, first to finish was Caswin Prince. Roger Young was second and third was Lawrence Jobe.

In addition to the race, the event featured a Health and Wellness Fair, and there were cultural performances, including the Maypole Dance.
