More qualifiers emerge from 2025 CARIFTA Trials
Seven A standards and three B standards were achieved last weekend, Saturday, March 1, and Sunday 2, 2025, at the Diamond Track Facility, when Team Athletics SVG staged the Dr Lennox Adams CARIFTA Trials.
Four athletes, Keo Davis; AJ Delpesche; J’ Mar Saunders; and Delron Delpesche, all qualified with A standard in the Under-20 Male 100 meters.
Competing in the final of the 100m on Saturday, Davis timed 10.43s; AJ clocked 10.50s; Saunders returned 10.55s; and Delron, 10.74s. The qualifying standard is 10.80s.
Meanwhile, AJ Delpesche, who like Davis had already made the A standard in the 200m, bettered his time with a 21.38s clocking on Sunday.
Both Delpesches compete for Team Mustangs, while Davis and Saunders, are members of the IT-DAT Academy.
Also attaining A standard was Leemore Ollivierre of IT-DAT Academy who ran 21.88s in the Under-17 Male 200m.
X- Ceed Sports Club’s Shaquania Jacobs ran 24.68s in the Under- 20
Female 200m, which is the minimum A standard for that gender’s event.
Two athletes-Roshaun Phillips and Zichri Hepburn of IT- DAT Academy and Team Mustangs respectively, registered B standards.
Phillips leapt 13.80m in the Under-17 Male Triple Jump, while Hepburn’s B standard qualifications, were in the Under-20 Male 1500m, and 5000m.
