One record broken and one equaled by Vincentian Athletes in Jamaica

A 6.69 seconds clocking by Mc Kish Compton in the finals of the men’s 60 metres, last Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Gibson/ Mc Cook Relays, held at the Jamaica National Stadium, equalled the St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) record.

Compton’s time thus placed him as joint record holder with Earl Simmons.

Simmons, who, like Compton is based in Jamaica, equalled the mark set last year.

Meanwhile, on February 14, 2025, Uroy Ryan jumped his way into the Indoor Long Jump record books by establishing a new distance of 7.88 metres, bettering Clayton Latham’s 7.85 metres.

Competing at the Tyson Invitational at Randal Tyson Track Centre in Fayetteville, Ryan’s leap put him fourth, but more importantly, he reset the St Vincent and the Grenadines record.
