The Layou Government School amassed a total of 188 points to win the primary schools division, followed by the Questelles Government School with 178 points in second position, and Barrouallie Government School, 150 points in third place.

In fourth place was Chateaubelair Anglican School with 146 points. The Barrouallie Anglican School was fifth with 122 points; sixth was the Clare Valley Government School with 48 points.

The Barrouallie Secondary School ran away with the secondary schools division title amassing 324 points, with the Troumaca-Ontario Secondary School taking the second spot with 302 points, and the Bethel High School third, with 250 points.

The Petit Bordel Secondary School was fourth with 196 points, and taking the fifth spot was the Buccament Bay Secondary School with 190 points.

The individual who pushed for the hosting of the All Leewards Relay Classic is Chester Morgan, the physical education teacher at the Barrouallie Secondary School. He was quite happy, and the periodic rain which forced a few delays, did not dent his enthusiasm.

“It is good and people…although they came late…came to support,” he said.

Morgan is looking forward to when lights will be installed at the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium so events like the All Leeward Relay Classic and other athletic events can be held in the cooler part of the day, which is anticipated would contribute to improved performances by the athletes and greater support from the general public.
