Clubs surging for Tier One Football’s big prize
With eight rounds of matches left in Tier One (Premier Division) of the 2024-2025 St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s National Club Championships, it remains anyone’s guess who will lift the title and the first prize of $30 000.
At present, North Leeward Predators and On Trac Hope International are the table toppers, as both are on 22 points.
Predators, though, are in pole position, as they have a superior goal difference.
In third spot is Layou on 17 points, with Je Belle on 16 points. Je Belle however, has played nine matches.
Just outside the top four is the Awesome on 15 points. Trailing is Avenues on 12 points, one point ahead of seventh place- Sion Hill.
BESCO- Pastures has 10 points, the same as Campdonia- Chelsea, but the latter has an inferior goal difference.
And in tenth place are the 2022-2023 First Division winners- SV United on 2 points.
The two clubs that finish in positions nine and ten will be relegated to Tier Two (First Division) of the next Club Championships.
Apart from the winner’s purse of $30 000; the second placed club earns $24 000, with third place pocketing $18, 000, and fourth place- $12 000.
The remaining positions fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth, get $4,000, $3,500, $ 3,000, $2,500, $ 2,000 and $1,500 respectively.
Tier One is played in a full league format, with the 10 clubs meeting one another twice.
