Mills House champs in Sandy Bay Secondary Meet
Not happy with the conditions of the London Playing Field which was the home of their sporting events for many years, the principal and staff of the Sandy Bay Secondary School decided to move their annual Inter-house Athletics Meet to the Chili Playing Field this year.
Notwithstanding the absence of the usual larger crowds, and small student population, the action on the track was ‘take-no-prisoner’ as the student athletes gave their all.
When the final race ended, the senior boys’ and girls’ 4×400 metre relay, Mills House emerged as the 2025 Sandy Bay Secondary School Inter-house champions with 928 points.
Sam House took the second spot with 925 points, and Ballantyne House came in third with 878 points.
T’Nique Roberts of Sam House won the junior girls champion title with 25 points, with the male junior champion title going to Mekel Baptiste of Mills House who amassed 28 points.
The Intermediate individual champion is Nedica John of Sam House with 35 points, and Verrol Thomas, also of Sam House won the male Intermediate individual champion title with 31 points.
The senior girls’ individual champion was won by Kiana Peters of Mills House with 31 points, while Kymal Adams, also of Mills House won the senior boys’ individual title with 27 points.
Nedica John of Sam House was declared the Victrix Ludorum, and Verrol Thomas also of Sam House copped the Victor Ludorum title.
