SVG athletes garner six medals at Barbados Track and Field Meet

An all- male team from the X- cel Track Club and the St Vincent Grammar School (SVGS), medalled in competition at the Joseph Payne Memorial Championships last Friday and Saturday, January 24 and 25, 2025, at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex in Barbados.

The team returned home with one gold and five bronze medals.

Israel Cumberbatch secured gold in the 800m, while Aaron Baisden copped bronze in the 100m and 200m.

Kazim James was a double bronze medallist in the Shot Putt and Discus Throws, and Zaheim Michael collected bronze in the 800m.

Also making up the team of athletes, were Serani Roban, Azari Horne, Zaheim Michael and Ezran Sam. Rawlson Morgan was the team’s coach and head of delegation.

The Championships were open to primary schools, secondary schools and clubs.
