Archery Association applauds 2024 top performers

Seven persons who were exceptional in 2024, and contributed to the growth of Archery in St Vincent and the Grenadines, were identified at an appreciation and awards ceremony on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Held at the Keg Bar and Grill, Murray’s Road, four of the recipients were presented with plaques, with the other three receiving certificates.

Receiving plaques were Divya Jiandani, the female Archer of the year; Jared Nichols, male Archer of the year; Rayon Clarke, most improved Archer, and Brian Gibbs, who was presented with the Spirit of Archery award.

The female trio of Marese and Mariel Burgin, along with Richol Richards, accepted certificates for extraordinary service to the sport.

According to President of the AASVG, Sanjay Jiandani, “Those three females are exceptional … they will go beyond the call of duty to ensure that the sport survives”.

The AASVG President was also at the receiving end of some plaudits, as he and his executive were given unexpected tokens from archers for their work in growing and sustaining Archery here in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
