Glendon James takes top accolade in Greiggs softball cricket awards

Glendon James goes by the moniker “Two Shoes”, and he is showing that his boots are too big to be filled, after his exploits in the 2024 Caesar’s Real Estate Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 Softball Cricket competition.

When the awards ceremony took place on Sunday, December 1, 2024, following the final at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, James was named player of the tournament.

He scored 276 runs, and scalped 10 wickets, playing for Fairbaine United. Inclusive in his tally of runs were two centuries.

It was back-to-back accolades for James, who last August, was named player of the 10/10 format.

Records show that as far back as 2018, James was the Greiggs softball king, as he was the player of the tournament in that year’s edition.

While James was the toast at the December 1, prize giving ceremony, it was the Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble Family that dominated the awards.

Wesrick Straugh was named player of the final; Stein Joseph, scored the most runs, 353; while Richie Richards took the most wickets- 12.

Out Ah Trouble’s Jabarri Cunningham was adjudged as the best wicket keeper.

Keyon Boyea of All Starz was rewarded for taking the best catch; and AIA Reload was adjudged the best dressed team.
