Associates Combined retain SVGCC Netball title

Associates Combined Jewels retained their hold on the title of the ECGC Island Sipz Water RW Sporting World St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) Invitational Netball tournament when they held off the Division of Nursing Education (DNE) Shooters in the final at the Villa Campus court on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Associates stamped their authority as number one with a 22- 14 win over DTE. Kimeisha Antoine scored 12 of 24 attempts at goal, and Ketonna Campbell sank 10 of 27 attempts for Associates Combined Jewels. Victonia Williams scored 6 of 9 for DNE Shooters.

Preceding the final, DTVE Stars defeated DTVE Netters 28- 12 to take the third spot.

Jamarah Coombs, with 16 of 22 attempts, and Jada Barkley 12 of 19 attempts, scored for DTVE Stars. Latoya Williams scored 8 of 14 tries for DTVE Netters.

In the awards that followed, the best defender was Denella Creese of Associates Combined Jewels; the best mid-court player was Ketonna Campbell of Associates Combined Jewels; while the shooter with the most goals scored was Jamarah Coombs of DTVE Stars. Coombs scored 86 of 128 tries at goal, and was the goal shooter with best average- 66.67%.

Adjudged the most improved players were Collette Myers of the Division of Teacher Education, and Victonia Williams of the Division of Nursing Education.

The MVPs of theTeams were: Faith Thomas of DASGS Elites; Skye Baptiste, of DSAGS Belles; Collette Myers from the Division of Teacher Education; Jeniecee Billingy of DTVE Netters; Jamarah Coombs of DTVE Stars; Lavern Michael of DNE Shooters; and Kimesha Antonine of Associates Combined Jewels. Denella Creesw was named MVP of the tournament.
