New Table Tennis talents emerge in Primary Schools Competition
It is now for the coaches to grab hold of the potential and harness it, as new Table Tennis talents emerge among budding and enthusiastic players from the primary schools.
This was evident throughout the just concluded Primary Schools Table Tennis Tournament, and moreso, when the finals were played at the top floor of the Girl Guides headquarters at Level Garden.
At the end of proceedings, it was the Clare Valley and the Fancy Government Schools that stood tall.
Sweeping the two team finals, Clare Valley saw off the Owia Government School 3-2 to win the Girls’ title; and had a 3-0 win over the Fair Hall Government, in the Boys’ Final.
The Barrouallie Government placed third in both genders.
Likewise, the Fancy Government bossed the singles, as Kiara Michael and Nathan Abraham, champed the girls’ and boys’ titles respectively.
Michael defeated the Kingstown Preparatory School’s Seana Stanley 11/9 , 11/8 , 11/5; while Abraham got the better of Atico Gordon of the Chateaubelair Methodist, 11/2, 11/6, 11/6.
Kerryann Bowens of Fancy Government trounced Rasheeda Burke of the Clare Valley Government Primary 11/1 11/9 ,11/6 to place third in the girls’ singles; and Fancy Government’s Chester Stay beat Fair Hall’s Samuel Gaymes 11/8, 11/6, 11/4, in the play off for third place among the boys.
Jayden Deplesche of Clare Valley Government, earned the title of most outstanding player among the competing schools.
