Out Ah Trouble takes Greiggs softball cricket title again
Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble Family, is harbouring the thought of staying out of the 2025 Caesar’s Real Estate Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition, following their five straight lien on the title last Sunday, December 1, 2024.
This was hinted by Carlos “Manage” James who told SEARCHLIGHT, “We may take a rest next year”.
James’ comments came after his team strode to a three wicket win over Bank of SVG All Starz in the final played at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.
That win marked the fifth straight title for the Greiggs outfit, starting in 2018. They also won the title in 2019, 2022 and 2023. There were no competitions in 2020 and 2021, because of Covid- 19 and the volcanic eruptions, respectively.
Out Ah Trouble showed their mettle in last Sunday’s final game after a stutter in the middle.
Chasing 128 to win, Out Ah Trouble got to the target, losing seven wickets in the process, but with 35 balls to spare.
Holding to their mantra of hitting sixes, Out Ah Trouble lashed 15, thus accounting for 90 runs in their response. Renrick Williams hit 43 not out; Wesrick Strough, 30; and Jabarri Cunningham, 28. Strough was later adjudged player of the final.
Bowling for All Starz, Lenroy Dalzell picked up 3 for 41.
When All Starz batted, they scored 127 for 6 from their 20 overs. Newborne Joseph, 33; Shamic Roberts, 30; and Othniel Lewis, 21. Davian Barnum took 2 for 25.
Before the final, Owia Strikers beat RSVG Police to take the third place.
Scores: Owia Strikers, 194 for 6; RSVG Police, 90.
For winning the title, Out Ah Trouble bagged $2,500; All Starz pocketed $1,500; and Owia Strikers received $1,000. All three teams got a trophy each to complement their earnings.
Apart from their five successive 20/20 titles, Out Ah Trouble also won the 10/10 format in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
