Masters Cricket ends this Sunday

The 2024 SVG Masters 20/20 Cricket Competition is closer to deciding who will be the victors. That question will be answered on Sunday, November 24,2024 from 1:00 pm at the Sion Hill Playing Field where the finals will be played.

Before the grand finale, the semi-finals are set for this Saturday, November 23, featuring North East versus North Leeward at the Sion Hill Playing Field, and at the Stubbs Playing Field RSVG Police will do battle against Stubbs. Both matches are slated to bowl off at 2:00 pm.

The four teams advanced to the semi-finals following last weekend’s quarter final matches. On Saturday, November 16, 2024, RSVG Police defeated Cato Heavy Equipment Premium Products

Glamorgan by 140 runs at the Stubbs Playing Field. RSVG Police amassed 215 for 2 off 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start.

Hyron Shallow stuck a masterful 107 not out; Salvan Browne, 58; and Mc Leon Williams, 34.

In response, Glamorgan made 75 for 5 from 15 overs. Dexter Small top scored with 22, as Hyron Shallow scalped 2 wickets for 11 runs, to add to his century. Also at Stubbs, but on Sunday, November 17, GECCU Stanley Browne Stubbs ousted Mustique by 47 runs.

Stubbs posted 140 for 6 off 17 overs, in a match reduced because of a late start.

Leading the way with the bat was Kissinger Mc Lean, who spanked 71; and Norlan Williams, 29.

Bowling for Mustique, Drumo Toney had 2 for 21, and Joseph Medford, 2 for 22. Mustique’s reply was 93 for 8 off 17 overs; Ceron Padmore made 24.

Theo Wallace who picked up 2 for 25; Micah Joseph, 2 for 21; and Ricky Thomas, 2 for 19, combined to stymie Mustique’s batting.

Joining in on the semi-final places was North Leeward who won from Davis Construction Bequia by 8 wickets at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

Bequia made 122 all out off 18.3 overs. Burton Forde lashed 38.

Clemore Millington bagged 4 for 18; Angel Hooper, 2 for 8; and Shemron Chambers, 2 for 10, bowling for North

Leeward, who replied with 123 for 2 off 15.3 overs.

Clemore Millington, 44 not out; Emil Anthony, 31; and Leon Samuel, 24, guided their team to the next phase.

And, the Sion Hill Playing Field was also the venue for North East’s win by 116 runs over Sion Hill.

North East posted 191 for 7 off 20 overs. Renrick Williams lashed 85; Elton Williams, 36; and Alison Dublin, 28.

For Sion Hill, Conrad Jack scalped 3 for 18; and Sylvester Vanloo, 2 for 32.

Sion Hill  made 75 all out off 12.2 overs. Ronald Medford scored 22 not out. Mahlon John, 4 for 12; and Emron Lorraine, 3 for 13, were North East’s most successful bowlers.

The awards and presentation ceremony will take place following the finals on November 24, 2024.
