Comfortable wins in TBPO weekend Softball Cricket

All five matches in the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) TBPO 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition held on Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November, 17, 2024, ended in comfortable margins for the victors.

Commencing on Saturday, Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble saw off Young Stallions by seven wickets.

Young Stallions got to 70 for 8 in 17 overs; Bradley Richards 18.

Bowling for Out Ah Trouble, Sunil James had 4 for 5 and Davian Barnum 2 for 9.

Out Ah Trouble replied with 75 for 4 in 9.1 overs. Renrick Williams- 30, and Davian Barnum- 18 not out.

Sheldon Nanton picked up 2 for 29.

Vinlec Power Stars won on a faster run rate over Older Boys, following a rain interruption.

Older Boys scored 98 for 4 in 15 overs. Mc Donald Simmons made 28 and Kenroy Martin, 19 not out.

In response, Vinlec Power Stars made 62 for 7 in 9 overs when rain stopped play. Wilfred Bascombe took 3 for 17, and Rohan King- 3 for 20, bowling for Older Boys.

On Sunday, AIA Reload ousted East Kingstown by 13 runs.

AIA Reload reached 136 for 5 in 17 overs, with Orlando Lavia scoring 75 not out.

Bowling for East Kingstown, Victor Cumberbatch took 2 for 19. East Kingstown’s response halted at 123 all out from their 17 overs.

Joel Gould 34, Delano Webb 22, and Raffie Williams 20, were the main contributors, as Jerando Jardine grabbed 4 for 25, and Rod Collins 2 for 9.

Sunday’s second match resulted in Kombat Warriors defeating Dr Thomas Injectors by 76 runs.

Kombat Warriors, on the back of Romano Pierre’s 62 and Marcus Hackshaw’s 19, rallied to 151 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Chester Keil 2 for 10 and Winston Holder 2 for 25, were Injectors’ most successful bowlers.

Injectors’ batters were dismissed for 75 in 14.4 overs. Tex Franklyn, 20 showing his all-round ability.

Romano Pierre scalped 4 for 19; Kamal Jackson 3 for 8; and Kerwin Browne 2 for 10.

And, also on Sunday, Vinlec Power Stars toppled Sion Hill Tallawahs by seven wickets.

Tallawahs made 68 all out in 13.5 overs, as Kenroy Richardson picked off 3 for 17; Kevin Small 2 for 16; and John Williams 2 for 17.

Vinlec Power Stars, led by John Williams’ 33, replied with 69 for 4 in 9 overs.
