TBPO Softball Cricket rolls on
Three matches had on field action, while the other two were decided by the default route, when the 2024 National Lotteries Authority/ TBPO 20/20 Cricket Competition continued on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, 2024, at the Dauphine Playing Field.
On Saturday, Young Stallions won by 64 runs over Dauphine United.
Young Stallions posted 127 all out in 17.2 overs. Kentish Phillips made 26, Sheldon Nanton, 23 and Tilron Harry, 20.
Baldwin Dabique, 4 for 20 and Nicholas Holder, 2 for 28, were the pick of the bowlers for Dauphine United.
However, Dauphine United could only reach 63 all out in 14.5 overs, as Jayvon Jack picked up 2 for 6, and Sheldon Nanton 2 for 13.
In Sunday’s second match, Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble crushed Older Boys by 137 runs.
Out Ah Trouble posted 194 for 8 in 15 overs, as the match was reduced. Davian Barniam 39, Jabari Cunningham 30, Richie Richards 29, Stein Joseph 27, and Mikel Mapp 23 not out, were the main scorers for Out Ah Trouble.
Bowling for Older Boys, Uroy Farrell had 2 for 18. Older Boys replied with 57 for 4 from their 15 overs. Kenroy Martin hit 22.
Sunday’s matches started and ended in default. Firstly, New Level won from Owia Strikers, who failed to show up, and Gomea Bombers won easily, also from Owia Strikers.
In between, Bank of SVG All Stars recorded a six wicket win over Dr Thomas Injectors.
Injectors reached 92 for 8 in 15 overs, in a reduced fixture. Chester Keil hit 24.
For All Stars, Nyron Dasouza had 2 for 17, and Kellique Samuel 2 for 20.
In reply, All Stars made 93 for 4 in 12.3 overs. Godwin John scored 28, and Nyron Dasouza hit 25 not out, to see All Stars to 93 for 4 from 12.3 overs.
Brent Maloney picked up 2 for 10, bowling for Injectors.
