Big wins in Masters weekend Cricket

There were big wins when another round of weekend matches were played in the 2024 SVG Masters 20/ 20 Cricket Competition.

On Saturday, October 19, at the Sion Hill Playing Field, the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), registered a 10 wicket win over Stroke Masters.

Batting first, Strokes Masters were bundled out for a measly 26 in 17 overs. Police responded with 28 without loss off 6.1 overs.

Then on Sunday, at Stubbs, Stanley Browne Stubbs won from Cato Heavy Equipment Premium Products Glamorgan by 50 runs.

Stubbs made 172 for 7 from 20 overs. Norlan Williams stroked a masterful 82. Bowling for Glamorgan, Noel Sanuel scalped 4 for 31, and McNeil Morgan picked up 2 for 26.

Glamorgan made 122 all out from 16.1 overs. Dexter Small scored 46, and Jerome Dick contributed 26.

Bowling for Stubbs, Micah Joseph had 3 for 19, and Basil Andrews, 3 for 14.

There was a no result at the Park Hill Playing Field, as rain affected play.

Davis Construction Bequia was 142 for 7 from 15.3 overs against North Windward, when rain ended the match.

At the Sion Hill Playing Field, North Leeward defeated Hope Pastures by seven wickets.

Alfred Howe took 2 for 13, to help restrict Hope Pastures to 69 for 7 off their 20 overs.

In reply, North Leeward made 70 for 3 off 12.2 overs. Clem Millington made 27, and Leon Samuel 20.

Rohan Ash, with 2 for 11, was Hope Pastures’ most successful bowler.

At Park Hill, North East beat Park Hill by 67 runs. North East posted 136 for 4 off 15 overs, as the overs were reduced because of rain. Deighton made Butler 52 not out, Elton Williams contributed 24, and Marcus Castello, 21 not out.

Park Hill’s response was 69 all out from 12.5 overs, undone by Lenroy Brewster who had 3 for 13; Rajiv Roberts, 2 for 14; and Antus Wright, 2 for 13.
