Romano Pierre hits triple figures in TBPO weekend cricket match

ANOTHER FIVE MATCHES were decided last weekend, Saturday 12, and Sunday 13, as the 2024 National Lotteries Authority TBPO Softball Cricket Competition maintains its speed.

But the highlight was left for the final match on Sunday, as Romano Pierre hit a century for Kombat Warriors versus AIA Reload. Pierre struck 103, to see Kombat Warriors to 190 all out in 19 overs. Marcus Hackshaw struck 31.

Jerando Jardine scalped 4 for 36, and Lesroy Richards had 2 for 22.

However, AIA Reload’s response was paltry, making 80 all out from 17 overs. Kenford Collins, scored 21.

Kombat Warriors’ bowling was led by Kamal Jackson, who had 5 for 8, and Donalson Harry 2 for 5.

When play was called on Saturday, VINLEC Power Stars defeated Dauphine United by four wickets.

Power Stars posted 107 for 2 from their 20 overs. Lawson Mason hit 48 not out, and Kamara Penniston, 22.

Dauphine United responded with 103 all out from 17 overs. The top batter was Juwan Laborde with 46.

John Williams scalped 3 for 21, and Asroy Frederick 2 had 20, bowling for Power Stars.

Then Sion Hill Tallawahs saw off Young Stallions by 16 runs.

Tallawahs posted 176 for 6 from 18 overs. Sealroy Williams hit 45; Teroy Roberts 42; Marlon Baptiste and Junan Baptiste 24 each. Bowling forYoung Stallions, Kentish Phillips took 2 for 38.

Young Stallions though, could only reach 160 for 5 from their 18 overs. Terrance Baptiste made 54 and Tilron Harry, 45. Tery Roberts had 2 for 19, bowling for Tallawahs.

When the competition continued on Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors overcame Hill Top in a 10 over affair as the match was reduced because of a wet pitch.

Injectors made 101 for 4 from their allotment, with Daree Roberts scoring 32, and Ahmed Baptiste, 29.

Hill Top’s most successful bowler was Kenton Mc Fee, who had 2 for 17.

Hill Top replied with 64 for 7 from the 10 overs, as Tex Franklyn took 2 for 5, bowling for Injectors.

There was no play in the second scheduled match on Sunday, so Gomea Bombers won by default from Experience.
