Six matches played in Masters’ Cricket last weekend
Six matches were decided last weekend in the SVG Masters 20/20 Cricket Competition on Saturday October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 2024.
On Saturday at the Sion Hill Playing Field, Hope Pastures defeated Strokes Masters by 60 runs.
Hope Pastures scored 162 for 5 off 20 overs. Rohan Ash, made 67 and Avistan Lawrence scored 50 not out.
Andrew Little had 2 for 30, bowling for Strokes Masters, who were dismissed for 102 from 19 overs at their turn at the crease. Maxton Hackshaw led with 34. Marvin Harry picked up 3 for 11.
At the Stubbs Playing Field, also on Saturday, Cato Heavy Equipment Premium Products Glamorgan won from North Windward by 101 runs.
Glamorgan amassed 144 for 3 off 15 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start. McNeil Morgan hit 43, and Patrick Thomas made 32 not out. North Windward replied with 43 all out off 10.1 overs . McNeil Morgan grabbed 2 for 11, and Dexter Small 2 for 13, bowling for Glamorgan.
Then on Sunday at Stubbs, North East had the better of Davis Construction Bequia, winning by 8 wickets.
Davis Construction Bequia scored 85 all out off 10 overs. Sherlon Pompey made 23. Bowling for North East, Mahlon John bagged 3 for 13, and Andre Hunte picked up 2 for 26.
In response, North East made 88 for 2 off 6.5 overs. Vibert Sampson hit 29 and Emron Lorraine 21 not out.
There was no play at that venue’s second match, and GECCU Stanley Browne’ s Stubbs won by default from Park Hill. And at Sion Hill, RSVG Police defeated host team , Sion Hill by 113 runs. RSVG Police made 179 for 8 off 18 overs, reduced because of a late start. McLean Williams hit 39 and Elmore Alexander 28. Gary Rodriguez picked up 3 for 30, and Sylvester Vanloo 2 for 22. Sion Hill replied with 66 for 8 off 18 overs. Ronald Medford made 28, while Renford Jack took 3 for 21.
