Stand-out players in Breakaway Masters Football Competition rewarded

The players who stood out in the 2024 Breakaway Masters Invitational Football competition that took place from June 8 to September 14,2024 at the Richmond Hill Playing Field, have been recognized.

Adjudicators thus completed their selection of best goal keepers, best defender, best midfielders, and the respective Most Valuable Players.

Accordingly, Amal Francis of AIA, was named the best goal keeper in the Firms Division, while in the Under -19 Division, System Three’s Jahfari Samuel took that award. United Force’s Isaiah Barker was the awardee in the Under-17 Division, and Rhea Thompson of System Three topped in the Female Division.

The best defenders were Leon Harry of Fisherfolks in the Firms Division; Pharon Durham of System Three in the Under-19 Division; while Volcanoes’ Malachi Mc Master copped the award in the Under-17 segment; and Altica Benn of System Three was the recipient in the Female Division.

The Best Midfielder accolade in the Firms Division was Tevin Davis of KFC Strikers; Jebelle’s Dimitri Thomas grasped the award in the Under-19 Division; Rasheed Knights of System Three, in the Under-

17 Division; and in the Female Division, Raedawn Nanton of System Three.

Meanwhile, the adjudicators decided on Japhet Antoine of KFC Strikers as the MVP in the Firms Division. Suedish Soonder of Roxdale got the nod in the Under-19 Division, with Ajani Mason of United Force, taking the Under-17 Division accolade; and Meiya Wilson of System Three, the choice in the Female Division.

Also rewarded were the top goal scorers in each division. Leading in that department in the Firms Division was Japhet Antoine of KFC Strikers, who netted 11 goals; Kareem Davis of System Three who netted 6 goals got the nod in the Under-19 Division; Omarion Little of United Force scoring 5 goals in the Under-17 Division; and Meiya Wilson of System Three who had 3 goals in the Female Division.

KFC Strikers won the Firms Division; System Three took the Under-19 and Female Divisions; United Force trumped the Under-17s; and CK Greaves pouched the Knock Out.

Thirty teams competed across the four divisions.
