SVGSA and partners opening opportunities in the yachting sector
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association, in partnership with the French Embassy to the Eastern Caribbean States, Barbados and the OECS, and Blue Life Yacht Charters, has introduced a programme offering hands-on training and work experience in a growing and lucrative industry.
The programme will be based in Bequia and be held over a series of eight weekends between October 2024 and May 2025. Critically, the programme will be fully funded.
The initiative is aimed at engaging local youth and introducing them to the various employment opportunities in the yacht charter industry.
Therefore, participants will be trained for various roles within the yacht charter industry, gaining first-hand experience and valuable skills to thrive in this dynamic sector.
Through this programme, the aim is to equip young women and men with practical expertise, confidence, respect, and essential life skills.
In lauding the initiative, President of the SVG Sailing Association (SVGSA), Jenny Trumble said: “By tapping into these local opportunities, we aim to create a new generation of professionals who are ready to embrace careers within St Vincent and the Grenadines’ thriving marine sector”.
