National Swimming Championships kick off this Thursday at Shrewsbury
From September 12 to 15, 2024, the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre will be wet with action, as the St Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Federation hosts the 2024 SVG Gallagher National Swimming Championships.
When all is said and done, the Black Sands Swim Squad will be looking to continue its reign on the championships.
Black Sands won the 2023 edition tallying 1306 points, ahead of Blue Marlins’ 1277 points, with Solid Base Swim Club from Grenada, putting together 196 points.
Pirates Swim Club from Barbados, Grenfin from Grenada and some unattached swimmers, completed last year’s four-day spectacle.
But local swimmers especially, will be looking to make their mark, as St Vincent and the Grenadines will host the 32nd edition of the 2024 OECS Swimming Championships, from Friday November 8 to Sunday, November 10.
Before that though, the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre will convene an OECS Time Trials, October 3 to 6, as announced by the SVG Swimming Federation.
