Progress of Senior Netball Players evaluated at weekend Netball series
The just concluded Summer Netball Series enabled the coaching staff of the senior national netball team the opportunity to evaluate progress made over the preceding weeks. President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association, Natasha Baptiste, said the series of games was used to allow the players to apply the strategies from training. “The performance of the team was credible,” she said “and highlighted the areas that we have to continue to work on”.
The matches were played on August 9-11 at the Nutricia Netball Centre, New Montrose.
Despite the Vincy Jewels senior team losing all three games played over the weekend to the male team, Vincy Warriors, Baptiste said she was pleased, noting that there is always room for improvement and that the male team provided the opportunity to enhance competitiveness among the females.
The Vincy Jewels seniors are currently preparing for the Fourth Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) International Netball Series, approved by World Netball (WN), to take place from September 21-30, 2024 in Saint Lucia.
All eight OECS Member States, along with the Cayman Islands have indicated their participation.
A 12 member squad will be named to represent St Vincent and the Grenadines in the tournament.
