Roban and Maloney on the ‘Road to Paris’

Vincentian 800 m specialists Handal Roban and Shafiqua Maloney have both achieved World rankings, hence, they are in good stead for a place at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The duo are on the provisional list of qualifiers for the Summer Olympic Games set for France, July 26 to August 11, 2024.

Roban has 1176 ranking points, while Maloney has 1116 points.

Thus, Roban and Maloney have until June 30, 2024, when the official qualification window closes.

Roban is the all-time record holder of St Vincent and the Grenadines in the men’s 800 m.

Currently, that record stands at 1:45.95.

Meanwhile, Maloney is the women’s 800 m record for St Vincent and the Grenadines. Her time is 1:59.94.
