Police keeping watch on Masters Cricket title

Defending champions of the SVG Masters T/20 Cricket Competition – Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines (RSVG) Police defeated Cato Heavy Equipment Glamorgan by nine wickets to stay perfect in the 2023 edition.

Police on the back of Mc Leon Williams’ 53 and Salvan Browne 48 not out, reached 107/1 from just 9.2 overs, last Saturday, October 14, at the Buccament Playing Field.

The two former St Vincent and the Grenadines opening batters were responding to Glamorgan’s 105/9 from their 20 overs. Kemwell Rodriques, 22. Bowling for Police, Oneil Thomas scalped 2/6.

On Sunday, at the Park Hill Playing Field, Stanley Browne Stubbs won from Davis Construction Bequia by four wickets.

Bequia, 152 all out off 19.1 overs; Sherlon Pompey 43, Nashum Barnum 35 and St Clair Bascombe 25.

Basil Andrews 5/ 24 and Kenroy Martin 4/ 18, were Stubbs successful bowlers. In reply, Stubbs 156/ 6 off 16.5 overs. Newborn Joseph 66 and Uzzah Pope 32, while Sherlon Pompey took 3 /40.

Also, at Park Hill, North East beat 007 Sports Bar Ptani by four wickets.

P’tani reached 162/ 9 off 20 overs. Romel Currency continuing his rich vein of form, lashed 4 fours and 7 sixes, as he plundered 79. Reginald Jeffrey contributed 24.

Emron Lorraine took 3/20, bowling for North East.

North East 164/ 6 off 19.3 overs. Deighton Butler led with 97, including 6 fours and 8 sixes Cornelius Springer was the pick of Ptani’s bowling, taking 3/31.

And, at Buccament, Budgmart Pastures had the better of  Strokes Masters by nine wickets.

Strokes Masters 118 all out off 20 overs. Orlando Lavia 57 and Nathaniel Mathias 20 Pastures -122/ 1 off 15.4 overs. Rohan Ash 66 and Marvin Harry 36.
