Currency lashes masters Cricket century

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windwards and Combined Campuses and Colleges batsman- Romel Currency, showed his worth, when he led 106 for P’Tani versus Davis Construction Bequia last Sunday, September 17 in the SVG Masters T/20 Cricket Competition.

Playing at the Park Hill venue, Currency’s knock was the fulcrum in P‘ Tani’s total of 194/7 from their 20 overs. Leslie Harry was the next best batter with 42.

Victor Williams- 3/13, was Bequia’s most successful bowler.

In reply, Bequia was restricted to 169/5 from their maximum 20 overs. Sherlon Pompey scored 66 and Neshon Barnum – 30, as P’Tani won by 25 runs.

Also, at the Park Hill Playing Field on Sunday, North East beat Civil and Architectural Solutions Park Hill by five wickets.

Park Hill made 118 all out from 16.2 overs, with Christian Adams – 29 not out. Emron Lorraine took 4/8, bowling for North East.

Renrick Williams then lashed 48, to lead North East to 119/ 5 from 19.1 overs.

Sunday’s other match, played at Buccament, resulted in RSVG Police defeating Budgmart Pastures by four wickets.

Pastures reached 129/8 from their 20 overs; Rohan Nash and Aniston Lawrence, both scored 27.

Bowling for RSVG Police, Olanzo Jackson scalped 4/ 19.

In response, RSVG Police, 132/6 from 16.4 overs; Keron Caesar – 28 and Gosnel Cupid – 27.

In between, Marvin Harry had 2/2 and Rohan Ash took 2/24.

When the 2023 edition began one day prior on Saturday, Cato Heavy Equipment Glamorgan defeated Strokes Masters by 10 wickets.

Strokes Masters posted 114 all out off 17.1 overs. Marcus Hackshaw 39 not out.

Glamorgan’s bowling was led by Selwyn Caine’s 4/25 and Che Ottley had 3/20.

Ezekiel Williams hit 37 before retiring hurt and Augustus Mofford – 22 not out, as Glamorgan made 115 for no wicket from 17.2 overs.
