Netball Association unveils new logo

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association (SVGNA) unveiled its new logo at a press conference on Wednesday, March 8 at the conference room of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC).

The new logo replaces the old one which was designed 70 years ago, in 1953.

Public relations officer of the SVGNA, Sean Fredericks said “The logo takes you on a new journey and refreshes the identity of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association’s work spanning over seven decades.”

“ This provides an insight into their contribution towards the holistic development of women and young girls in the sport of Netball and how the organization has nurtured these women and most recently men,” Fredericks expounded.

“The change of the logo gives completeness to this noble organization and those leaders who have so diligently passed on the baton for us to boast of the many successes and achievements over the years, while reigniting the vision and mission for a brighter future”.

The new logo is in the national colours: blue, gold and green.

“The figures represent the inclusive nature the sport has adapted, riding all negative barriers and misconceptions around male involvement in the sport,” Fredericks noted as he gave an outline of the new logo.

He added that the logo “is a true representation of our “Vincy Jewels” which highlights our country’s resilience, national pride and oneness.”

Vincy Jewels is also the name which the Association has given to all the female national Netball teams.
