Je Belle Youths champs Community College Football Competition
Jebelle Youths won 3-2 on penalty kicks over Hope International Youths to take the National Lotteries Authority/ Unique Touch Soccer/ SVG Community College Football Competition title last Friday night, November 18 at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field.
After regulation time, the score was 1-1, as Rondell Thomas had put Hope International Youths in the lead in the 61st minute. But Kareem Delpesche equalized in the 66th minute for Jebelle, thus sending the final into penalty kicks.
Preceding the final, Volcanoes FC defeated DSAGS Year One 6-2, to take the third place.
Meanwhile, several awards were presented at last Friday night’s closing ceremony.
In the Most Improved Player Awards category, the DTVE Year One awardee was Rushan Walker; DTVE Year Two, Nate Parsons; DASGS Year One, Lenroy Dalzel; DASGS Year Two, Jimmel Lewis; Associates Combined, Jamaar Cropper; System 3 Youths, Jahiem Kirby; Jules Anthony Northern Stars, Jhalil Debique; Volcanoes FC, Delano Benjamin; Hope International Youths, Kelique Wyllie; and Jebelle Youths, Jeffon Collins.
In the Team MVP awards, taking the accolade for DTVE Year One was Jermaine Jarvis; DTVE Year Two, Jaquan Adams; DASGS Year One, Steven Pierre; DASGS Year Two, Denzel Bascombe; Associates Combined, Duvani Williams; System 3 Youths, Jahiem Kirby; Jules Anthony Northern Stars, Ojay Matthews; Volcanoes FC, Oraldo Campbell; Hope International Youths, Rondell Thomas; and Jebelle Youths, Iruel Matthias.
The MVP for semi- final one was Julanus Gaymes of DASGS Year One. Semi-final two was Kamol Griffith of Jebelle Youths. The MVP third place playoff was Isah Charles; with Best Goal in the Final award going to Kareem Delpesche.
The Most Goals in the Tournament, 12, were scored by Steven Pierre of DASGS Year One; while the Ossique Billingy Award for the Most Disciplined Player of the Tournament was taken by Rahim Sam of Volcanoes FC; and the MVP of the Final was Kamol Griffith of Jebelle Youths.
The departmental awards were: Best Goalkeeper, Elron Baptiste of Hope International Youths.
The Best Defender was Julanus Gaymes of DASGS Year One; the Best Midfielder, Jeffon Collins of Jebelle Youths; Best Striker, Steven Pierre DASGS Year One.
MVP of the Tournament was Kamol Griffith of Jebelle Youths.
