Lot 73 Strikers stay as Mustique Cricket champions
Lot 73 Strikers retained the Mustique Twenty/20 cricket title after defeating Salanga Tama Hawks by 18 runs, last Sunday in the final at the Mustique Playing Field.
Lot 73 Strikers, choosing to bat after winning the toss, posted 160.
That total was fashioned around Lennon Caine’s 47, while Nicolas Baptiste chipped in with 29 and Sealron Williams, 25 not out.
Jen Lavia, with 3 for 16 and Shem Browne, 2 for 13, were the most successful bowlers for Tama Hawks.
Tama Hawks replied with 142 for 8 off 20 overs.
In the presentation ceremony that followed, Sealron Williams of Lot 73 Strikers got the most wickets award for his 17 scalps, and Nicolas Baptiste, also of Lot 73 Strikers, scored the most runs (128).
This year’s competition is a return after an absence of two years, as a combination of the Coronavirus and the eruptions of La Soufriere volcano put paid to any action in 2020 and 2021.
