James and Joseph star in two nation cricket series
The Windward Islands Under-19 women’s captain, Zaida James and Djenaba Joseph of Trinidad and Tobago were the top batter and bowler respectively after the two teams concluded their five match 20/20 series on Tuesday, April 19.
James scored 155 runs and Joseph took 11 wickets as the two were named their team’s most outstanding players at a Closing and Awards Ceremony last Tuesday night at the Haddon Hotel, Mc Kies Hill.
Trinidad and Tobago won the series 4-1 to lift the Browne- John/ Mc Intyre trophy.
The first three matches were played at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, while the other two were played at the Cumberland Playing Field.
It was the first such series to be held between regional Under-19 women’s teams.
Both the Windward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago used the series in preparation for the West Indies Under-19 Tournament set for Trinidad and Tobago in July of this year.
