Glasgow on WI selectors’ radar
After being selected as part of the first ever West Indies women’s A team last year to play against Pakistan A, Vincentian medium fast bowler, Jannilea Glasgow has been included in the senior team’s training camp for a tour of South Africa later this month.
In her debut 50 over matches for the regional team, despite not taking a wicket in her three matches, Glasgow’s ability has caught the eyes of the selectors.
She, along with St Lucian- Zaida Joseph are the two teenagers in the 23 -member preparation squad.
The other members of the training squad which began preparations on Sunday in Barbados, are: Aaliyah Alleyne, Reniece Boyce, Shemaine Campbelle, Shamilia Connell, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Cherry-Ann Fraser, Sheneta Grimmond, Chinelle Henry, Qiana Joseph, Kycia Knight, Kyshona Knight, Mandy Mangru, Hayley Matthews, Anisa Mohammed, Chedean Nation, Karishma Ramharack, Kaysia Schultz, Shakera Selman, Stafanie Taylor and Rashada Williams.
The camp is set to end this Thursday, and the selection of the final 18, named thereafter.
On the tour of South Africa, the West Indies will play four One Day Internationals (ODIs) on January 28, 31, February 3 and 6.
Prior to the series, the West Indies will meet a South Africa XI in a warm up match on January 25.
