Sunday Sweaters champ inaugural small goal football title

SUNDAY SWEATERS became the first outfit to win the Comsport Over-40 Six–A Side small goal football tournament.

A two-day tournament, held among four teams at the Comsport Sporting Facility in Arnos Vale on Sunday and Monday, resulted in Sunday Sweaters winning two matches and drawing the other, to finish undefeated.

Sunday Sweaters opened their account on Sunday with an 8-1 drubbing of a depleted Sion Hill Masters team. Their second match on Monday, saw them playing to a goalless draw versus South Leeward Masters, before defeating Comsport Legends onenil.

For champing the tournament, Sunday Sweaters collected a trophy and $400, while second place South Leeward Masters earned a trophy and $150.

The MVP awardees were Stanley Liverpool – Sunday Sweaters, Sylvester Joseph – South Leeward Masters; Ezekiel Free – Sion Hill Masters and Curtis Joseph – Comsport Legends.

Liverpool, who netted five goals, gained the most goals trophy.

The Comsport Sporting Facility is owned by businessman Michael John, who is

also the chair of the Arnos Vale Football League and a committee member of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation.
