Women’s football taking local focus

THE WOMEN’S department within the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) has embarked on an online series geared towards the further education of players of the game.

The objectives of this initiative include further enhancing the players’ knowledge of the game and exposing them to opportunities for growth available through football, whether it be on or off the field.

The series, which began last Saturday on the SVGFF Zoom platform, began with an introductory session of the eexecutive and women’s committee, as well as an interactive one to ascertain the players’ expectations of the programme and women’s football in general.

This initiative will tackle a number of topics, including the teaching of the laws of the game, dieting and health, possible career paths available through football, as well as its mental and psychological impacts.

These sessions are expected to be held for three Saturdays each month.

This online initiative is being held under the theme “Aspire to inspire: we teach, we learn, we grow together, on and off the field of play”.
