Local Table Tennis to get a restart

Local Table Tennis will get a restart when the St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA), will from 10 am this Saturday, March 20, commence the first in a series of tournaments, dubbed: “Table Tennis Stars Tournaments”.

Slated to get going at the West St George Secondary School, the base of the Sean Stanley Table Tennis Academy, the tournaments will feature the top six male players, the two top females and two others from the different academies and schools throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Apart from the West St George venue, matches in the tournaments will be hosted at the Spencer’s Table Tennis Club, stationed at the New Democratic Party (NDP} headquarters, the Rodney Caruth’s Table Tennis School in Bequia, along with the Adams Table Tennis Club in Troumaca.

Public Relations Officer of the SVG Table Tennis Association, Sean Stanley, disclosed that the idea of the tournaments is “to keep the top players active during the Covid-19 pandemic in the event that any of them is called upon to compete regionally or internationally”.

Stanley also noted that cash prizes will be awarded to the top four places of each tournament.
