Obed Mc Coy heads to Abu Dhabi T/10 league

Vincentian left-arm fast bowler Obed Mc Coy will be part of the 2021 edition of the T/10 League which will get underway from January 28 to February 6 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

It is the second occasion that he has been selected for that format in the United Arab Emirates. In 2018, Mc Coy was to be part of the T/10 league in Sharjah, but was unable to fulfill his duties with the Northern Warriors.

In the 2021 edition, Mc Coy, who turned 24 yesterday, January 4, will represent Team Abu Dhabi, which has fellow West Indian Chris Gayle as its marquee player.

Team Abu Dhabi also has Leonardo Julien and Hayden Walsh Jr as the other West Indians in the line up.

Loaded with West Indies players, Kennar Lewis and Devon Thomas are in the Pune Devils, with Dehli Bulls containing Dwayne Bravo, Fidel Edwards, Evin Lewis, Sherfane Rutherford and Nyeem Young, while Johnson Charles and Andre Fletcher are with the Bangla Tigers.

Meanwhile, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, and Ravi Rampaul will turn out for the Deccan Gladiators, with Fabian Allen, Rayad Emrit, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, Andre Russell and Lendl Simmons, filling the Northern Warriors.

The players draft and team selection process were completed on December 23rd and the teams have been divided into two groups.

Group A features Maratha Arabians, Northern Warriors, Bangla Tigers and Delhi Bulls and Group B has Qalandars, Team Abu Dhabi, the Gladiators and Pune Devils.

Twelve matches will take place in the league stage and the same at the Super League stage.
