VTTF ends training camp in Fancy
The Vincy Table Tennis Foundation (VTTF) has ended a six-day table tennis training camp at the Fancy Government School in Fancy.
Leading up the camp was head coach of the VTTF Romano Spencer, who was assisted by Clyo Durrant, a level one coach, who is also a teacher from the area. Assisting as well was Danny Michael, a physical education teacher also from that locale.
The coaching staff during that period instructed 12 boys and 11 girls in the basics of the sport.
Commenting on the training camp, president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA) Orville Haslam, expressed pleasure that the VTTF has begun to run camps, which he deemed “as the first of many”.
Haslam noted that such camps are way of developing young players with the possibility of creating potential athletes to represent the country, under the guidance of the SVGTTA.
