Handal Roban bags bronze at NACAC championships
Handal Roban was St Vincent and the Grenadines’ lone representative at last weekend’s hosting of the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-18 and Under-23 championships in Queretaro, Mexico, and he ensured that outing was worthwhile.
Competing last Saturday in the final of the male Under-18 800m, Roban finished third, behind Abdullahi Hassan of Canada and Chevonne Hall of Jamaica.
Roban’s place on the podium came after he timed one minute 53 seconds 39 seconds in the two-lap event.
Meanwhile, in taking the gold, Hassan stopped the clock at one minute 52.48 seconds, with silver medallist, Hall, clocking one minute 53.32 seconds.
It was Roban second bronze Junior Carifta Games in the Cayman Islands, last April.
