Seasoned cricketers star for Team Rivals over Police Two at Sion Hill

Former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards players Hyron Shallow, Lindon James and Deighton Butler, starred for Team Rivals, to see off Police Two by an innings and 37 runs in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division at the Sion Hill Playing Field, last week.

Shallow scored 160 not out and James compiled 121 not out, while Butler had a match haul of 11 for 94.

Batting first, Police Two made 189. Kesrick Williams stroked 50 and Salvan Browne, 31, with Butler scalping 6 for 70.

Team Rivals replied with 326 for 3 declared. Shallow’s innings contained 18 fours and 9 sixes and James, who previously represented Radcliffe, struck 9 fours 3 sixes, as the two shared in an unbroken fourth-wicket partnership of 260 runs.

It was Shallow’s second ton for the 2019 season, having scored his first versus Guardian General Saints.

Darius Martin took 2 for 51, bowling for Police Two.

Behind by 137 runs, Police Two was dismissed for 100. Butler, who also represented the West Indies at the ODI and Twenty/20 International levels, grabbed 5 for 24, Lindon James, 3 for 19 and Olanzo Jackson, 2 for 26.

Police Two will be looking to redeem themselves this weekend, when they engage New Haven Funeral Home North Windward Youths at the Park Hill Playing Field.
