Seishin wins IKD national Karate club championship

With eight gold medals under their belt, the Seishin Karate Club was crowned the 2018 IKD national karate club winners last Sunday at the Russell’s Auditorium.

Seishin bettered the SVG Shotokan Karate Club, which ended with six gold.

Similarly, Seishin took four of the individual titles contested.

Akeem Mc Dowald, Zakila Henry and the husband and wife combination of Claude Bascombe Jr. and Allyson Bascombe, won titles on behalf of Seishin.

Mc Dowald was the most outstanding karateka in the 11-13 age category, while Henry champed in the 11-16 age grouping.

Meanwhile, the Bascombes bossed the 18 -39 age group.

Zalika Henry, the Most Outstanding Karateka in the junior female 11-16 group

Three titles were secured by the SVG Shotokan Karate Club.

Mc Quinn Mocket was the most outstanding in the 8-10 age group; Joel Mason, the 14-16 and Marcus Caeser, the 40-49 age group.

The Seishin Karate Club finished with 18 medals in total, while the SVG Shotokan Club collected 22, as they both competed in the Kata and Kumite events.
