Police Two, Team Rivals in National Cricket Championships final
Police Two and Team Rivals, earned the opportunity to be crowned first holders of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc.
National Cricket Championships, when the final is played this Sunday from 9:30 a.m. at the Park Hill Playing Field.The two reached the title deciding match, after wins in last Sunday’s semi-finals.
At Park Hill, FLOW Radcliffe chose to bat first against Team Rivals, and scored 180 all out from 32.3 overs.Richie Richards led with 47, while Delorn Johnson made 27 and Kadier Nedd, 26.Olanzo Jackson had figures of 3 for 46, while there were two wickets apiece for Deighton Butler, Rasheed Fredericks and Obed Mc Coy, at the cost of 29, 30 and 37 runs, respectively.
Team Rivals responded with 182 for 8, from 41. 4 overs, to trump by two wickets.Casmond Walters was the topscorer with 48, striking 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Davian Barnum chipped in with 41 and Kody Horne, 26.
This was despite Delorn Johnson’s efforts with the ball, in which he snared 4 for 22 and Lindon James’ 3 for 32.At the Arnos Vale Playing Field, Police Two showed Victors One the way to the exit, handing them a 50-run defeat.Police Two posted 248 after being inserted. Kenneth Dember struck 55, Romario Grant, 54 , Desron Maloney, 32 and Andrew Thomas, 31.
Bowling for Victors One, Ray Jordan had 5 for 43, Solomon Bascombe, 2 for 50 and Norlan Williams, 2 for 58.Victors One fell short, dismissed for 198. Alston Bobb led with 88 and Chrisroy John scored 25.Dember, showing his all-round ability, picked up 3 for 15, Romario Bibby, 3/32 and Darius Martin, 3 for 50.
