Swim team gets into Rugby

Some members of the Black Sands Swim Squad, recently, gave up the pool for a day of rugby.

Utilising the parcel of land leading to the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre (SAC), the Get Into Rugby programme was delivered to 22 members of the Black Sands Swim Squad. The swimmers were introduced to rugby through a number of games, which focused on the fundamentals of the sport, in a fun and safe manner.

Among those participating in the introductory programme were members of the St Vincent and the Grenadines swim team, including coach Kyle Dougan, who journeyed to Australia last month to compete at the XXI Commonwealth Games, staged on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
