Rising Stars light up BCBA first home tournament
A 44-41 win by Rising Stars, handed them the first in–house tournament trophy, staged by the Blue Chip Basketball Academy (BCBA).
Rising Stars’ triumph was versus Hoopsters, as the two battled for honours at the Girls’ High School hard court last Friday afternoon.
The other teams in the tournament were Heat Wave and Shell Shockers.
The tournament involved members of the BCBA SVG chapter, who were stashed into the four outfits, as coaches got an opportunity to evaluate them in competition and on full court.
Awards
Tevin Bynoe of Rising Stars was adjudged the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, with another Rising Stars player Krista Bailey, the Best Defensive Player.
Heat Wave’s Cameron Thomas was named the Most Improved Player.
There were also awards for the Most Valuable Players for each team.
Heat Wave’s awardee was Leymahrr Campbell, while for Hoopster, the recipient was Lemus Christopher, and for Shell Shockers, it was Ewansie Peniston.
The BCBA is the brain child of US-based Vincentian basketballer Kishon Bishop, who formerly resided in Campden Park.
