Teams are showing their prowess as the 2015/2016 National Lotteries Authority North East Football League gets ready to hit the elimination phase.

The potent PYOLA of Layou are top of Group A, with Bruce Law Chambers Sparta FC heading Group B and SV United leading in Group C.

PYOLA sit on 18 points from six matches, with Greiggs FC on 13 points from six matches; Je Belle Chapman FC – 12 points from five matches and Out-A-Trouble – 10 points also from five matches.

The remaining teams in the group are Richland Park Pride and Joy – 8 points from six matches; SV United “B” – 4 points from six matches, and Linkers FC – 1 point from six matches.

With all teams in Group B having played six matches, Bruce Law Chambers Sparta FC are perfect with 18 points. Sparta FC are followed by Je Belle FC on 17 points, while both LP Boys and DESCO are on 13 points.

Among the stragglers are Owia on 6 points, with Royal Saints and North East Masters on 3 points each.

Group C leaders, SV United possess 15 points from their five encounters. Ballerz United have 13 points from six matches, while Biabou FC are on 12 points from five matches; Brownstown – 10 points from five matches, and Sparta FC (2) – 7 points from five matches.

Finding it difficult to keep up the pace with the others are Fancy – 4 points from six matches and Carib Wariors – 2 points from six matches.

The first and second placed teams from each group will automatically advance to the quarter-finals, which will be completed with the best of the two third placed teams from the groups.(RT)
