SVG Community College on a roll in Sunday League
The French Verandah SVG Community College blazed to their fourth consecutive win in the 2016 St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Associationâs 50 overs Sunday League.
Community College, first time entrant, made it four in a row, when they defeated Belfongo by 301 runs at the Buccament Playing Field last Sunday.{{more}}
Batting first, SVG Community College amassed 392 for 6 in 48 overs, on the back of two unbeaten centuries from Jeremy Layne, 140 not out and Tilron Harry, 101 not out.
Layneâs innings contained 23 fours and 3 sixes, while Harry struck 9 fours and 7 sixes in his stay at the crease.
The two shared an unbroken seventh wicket stand of 221, as they came together at 171 for 6.
Bradley Richards, 2 for 57 and Darren Henry, 2 for 82, were Belfongoâs best bowlers.
Belfongo were then bundled out for 91 in 14.5 overs. Jeremy Layne bagged 5 for 27 to complete a good all-round performance, while Tijourn Pope took 2 for 24, as SVG Community College won by 301 runs.
Tons by Layne and Harry join other triple figures scores for the season, recorded by Kensley Joseph of Radcliffe Too and Adinol Richards of Victors Too.
Meanwhile, at the Park Hill Playing Field, Radcliffe Too outlasted KCCU Triumph United by 73 runs.
Calvert King â 80 not out, Kensley Joseph â 51 and Ceron Padmore pushed Radcliffe Too to 197 for 3 from their 50 overs.
Triumph United, in reply, were 124 all out. Leandro Gilkes led with 46 and Keroy Roberts â 26.
Imran Smith took 4 for 24 and Kensley Joseph â 3 for 23.
And, at Arnos Vale Two, Smashers had an eight-wicket win over Strike Eagles.
Responding to Strike Eaglesâ 138, Smashers, led by 70 not out from Romano Charles, reached 140 for 2.(RT)
