National T/20 Cricket Competition enjoys full weekend

Victors One, Police One, Police Two and Northern Stars all registered wins on Sunday, as the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams Twenty/20 Cricket Competition enjoyed a full weekend of matches.{{more}}

Victors One solidified its position for a semi-final place when they defeated Combined Youths by 72 runs.

Playing at the Stubbs Playing Field, Victors One notched up 166 for 7 off 20 overs. Miles Bascombe – 80 and Atticus Browne – 40, were the major contributors.

Bowling for Combined Youths, Oneil Endeavour took 2 for 30 and Nickie Antoine 2 for 48.

In reply, Combined Youths were dismissed for 94 in 16.3 overs.

Combined Youths’ innings was unravelled by Norlan Williams, who grabbed 3 for 13 and Kimson Dalzell, 3 for 21.

Also at the Stubbs venue, Police One outlasted Radcliffe Too by 70 runs. Police One, led by Selrick Caine who scored 58 and Sylvan Spencer – 33 not out, posted 193 for 7 from their 20 overs.

Kaman Greene with 2 for 26 was Radcliffe Too’s most successful bowler.

The efforts of Kingsley Joseph – 34 and Imran Smith – 26, were not enough, as Radcliffe Too’s innings ended at 123 all out in 16.4 overs.

Bowling for Police One, Sylvan Spencer had 3 for 16 and Renford Jack snared 3 for 23.

At the Sion Hill Playing Field, Northern Stars scolded French Verandah SVG Community College by six wickets.

Batting first, SVG Community College was stifled to 81 for 8 from their 20 overs; Jeremy Layne made 36 not out.

Northern Stars responded with 82 for 4 off 10.5 overs; Kenny Stapleton struck 48.

And at Arnos Vale One, Police Two saw off Bequia Cricket Association by six wickets.

Bequia Cricket Association reached 181 for 4 off 20 overs. Topping the batting was Dean Browne – 90 and Jenry Ollivierre – 39.

Police Two’s bowling saw Parnel Browne taking 2 for 25.

Mc Leon Williams – 93 not out and Parnel Browne – 54, navigated Police Two to 185 for 4 off 18.2 overs.

While Police Two was romping to a comfortable triumph, Meshack Williams picked off 3 for 31, bowling for Bequia Cricket Association.(RT)
