The four-leg race for the last few years had regional participation, mainly from a Grenadian quartet.

But with the NACAC Chatoyer 10K returning, that took the international flavour to the local road racing calendar.

Beginning at 3 p.m., each athlete will be required to make one lap around Kingstown, with the lap beginning and ending in front of First Caribbean International Bank on Halifax Street.

This year, however, sees the replacement of the clearly defined primary and secondary categories, which have been replaced by the Under-15 and Under-20 age groupings. They will go along with an Open category.

Prizes are in store for the three top places in each category, with the Under-15 athletes in line to receive $300, $200 and $150, respectively, while the Under-20s get $400, $300 and $200 for their first, second and third places, in that order.

The first place in the Open category earns $600; second place, $400 and third place, $200.

The prize distributions show equality for both sexes.

IT-DAT Academy won both the male and female divisions of the Open category in the 2014 edition of the Round D Town Relay.(RT)
