Stapleton, in revealing his intent, said two factors prompted his decision, namely the current financial policies of the SVGFF and being wooed by several affiliates.
If elected on Saturday, November 21, Stapleton proposes to: âseek to correct and fix our financial deficiencies and eradicate any form of possible financial misconduct and corruption at the SVG Football Federation… Let us for once have a four-year term of financial rest and peace at the SVGFF.â
âAs your vice-president of finance, I will dot our Iâs and cross our Tâs to ensure that the finances of the SVGFF are intact, spent with accountability and will report all such activities with transparency to you the affiliates (owners of the SVGFF) on a regular basis…I will leave no stones unturned in ensuring that the assets of the federation are protected against any kleptomaniac that may deceitfully plan and plot daily to rob the organization,â Stapleton added.
Stapleton, who is making his first bid at national football administration, projects to the affiliates, âA vote for me as your vice-president of finance will produce nothing less than an optimistic financial future for the SVGFF…As forward thinkers, let us put in place the right mechanisms that can efficiently and effectively manage and protect football finances.
âI trust that your wisdom will partner with your truthful conscience in the appointment of this finance vice-president position…Rest assured my level of service to you will be the epitome of my mission and vision for the SVG Football Federation,â Stapleton declared.
Stapleton was endorsed by Keith Duncan of Dove FC and Lorson Lewis of the Barrouallie Sports Association.
Apart from Stapleton, incumbent Marvin Fraser, Clemroy Francois, Roxell John and former general secretary Trevor Huggins, are vyeing for the post.(RT)
