Four matches were decided as the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organization Softball Cricket Competition rolled on last weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}
The weekend, however, got off to a bad start, as Stingers won by default from Nar Fren Dem on Saturday.
But the next on field action on the day resulted in Winter Boys shining over Computec Older Boys by three wickets.
Older Boys batted first and made 101 for 7 in 15 overs; Ashford Wood was the most potent batsman, with 39. Bowling for Winter Boys, Emmanuel Baptiste took 2 for 15 and Glenroy John, 2 for 24.
Winter Boys reached 104 for 7 in 14.5 overs, winning off the penultimate ball.
Delon Williams saw his team over the line with 27 not out and Christian Williams hit 25.
Older Boysâ bowling saw Sylvannus Morgan taking 2 for 9 and Keith Constance picking off 2 for 28.
On Sunday, Ezee Woods Toppers ran over New Track Guys by 123 runs, in one-way traffic.
Toppers, on the back of Jevon Jack â 42 and Joel Patterson â 31, reached 147 for 7 in 15 overs. In between, Andre Woods got 2 for 12 and Carlton Baptiste â 2 for 24.
Sheldon Nanton â 3 for 4 and Jevon Jack â 3 for 5, then wrecked New Track Guys for 24 in 10.5 overs.
And, one of the competitionâs more popular teams, Sunset Strikers, earned an 11-run triumph over Shot Callers.
Sunset Strikers batted first and were dismissed for 116 in 18.1 overs; Charles Burgin top scored with 20, as Raje Questelles took 3 for 9 and Lee Bullock 3 for 27.
In response, Shot Callers got to 105 all out in 15.4 overs; Raje Questelles led with 41.
Bowling for Sunset Strikers, Rodney Gibson grabbed 3 for 26 and Randy Warner had 2 for 18.(RT)
